Homeschool Camera Club FOUNDATIONS - Photo Walk/Nature Sketching
Hey Camera Club - this Foundations photo walk is designed to be a slower paced, smaller-group opportunity to get across the basics of your camera, photography in general, and a chance to observe nature in its small details.
If you've already been before, it'll be generally the same.
We will wander through the gardens, April can help the kids with the cameras if needed, try out a few different lenses, and stop for lunch/breaks/nature sketching for those wanting a break from the cameras, look for lizards and bees etc.
I will offer this a few more times so that everyone who wants a smaller, calmer chance to grasp the foundations has the chance :)
Please select a date from the drop down menu.
WHAT: A casual walk through the botanic gardens to capture flora and fauna, using my cameras or yours.
WHEN: 11:30am - 1:30pm on the dates shown in the menu; once fully booked they will grey out.
WHERE: National Botanic Gardens
WHO: All homeschoolers welcome; all children must be accompanied and supervised by their parent or guardian; this is NOT a drop and leave outing, and all children remain the full responsibility of their guardian.
I have limited the spots for each outing, so as to be able to share the cameras, practically help with camera set-up, and share advice/feedback if needed.
COST: FREE, please factor in paid parking at the gardens.
BRING:
- An SD card - it doesn't need to be a large size, even 16gb would be fine, but I do recommend a faster speed (Ultra or Pro), so kids aren't frustrated with the speed of the camera writing images to the card.
- Feel free to bring your picnic lunch/afternoon tea as well, and don't forget your water bottle!
- Don't forget your camera or phone, if you're bringing your own!
OTHER INFO: If you are need to borrow a camera, please let me know in the info box. I only have 3 cameras to lend out, so these spots are limited.
We may share the cameras depending how many people need to borrow one.
Children can also use phones to take photos. I am happy to assist in setting up the cameras, setting up shots, etc. Hopefully kids will support and help each other out as well as us adults, making this a social as well as a creative experience.
Photos will be saved as JPEG files, unless you indicate you would like to save them as raw files (and have the appropriate software at home to be able to open and edit raw files).
If you have any questions, please reach out to April! :)
