I am newborn, cake smash & holiday mini session specialist based in the Canberra region (Googong-based, specifically!)

I have been capturing families since 2012. I grew up loving photography, especially nature and landscape photography, and when I had my first little girl, the passion only grew, so I invested in learning more and more about capturing families and babies, and I haven't stopped since!

These days I homeschool my three children and am still just as in love with my job as the day I started!

As a parent myself, I count it a great privilege to capture families as part of my daily life. A typical day in my life involves making a fool of myself as I make friends with my little clients, capturing their genuine personalities and making portraiture a fun experience for the whole family!

I am a relaxed, friendly photographer, with a passion for creating colourful, classic portraits that capture the spirit of your family.

WHY "NEW LEAVES"?

Well, a few years ago, not long before we relocated to Canberra, my business name used to reflect my love of autumn, but autumn is typically a time of slowing down, rest, transition into a slower season..
 

I don't know about you all, but for my young family, adding new little humans to the family was more like SPRING! New life, excitement, energy, growth.. adding new leaves to the family tree.
 

My name (April) also means new life ~ no wonder I turned out to be a newborn & family photographer!
